What started by accident, setting up at farmers markets, has turned into a thriving business.

In 2012 my husband and I built a new home. Our local GFWC Woman's Club had sponsored the town's farmers market for several years. They didn't have anyone who did baked goods and such, so when we were speaking with the health department about building our home, I asked what it would take to get a permit to sell at the farmers market. He told me and I got my permit in spring of 2013. Being a member of the club, I felt it was only right that I give it a shot and take some baked goods the first week. I was surprised at how well I was received and delighted at the comments of returning customers. One week I decided to take a few jars of my jams to the market. My customers bought and enjoyed them and when those were gone they asked what other kinds I made. I thought, what the heck, I'll make some more and see if they sell too, which sold equally well.

Soon customers were telling me of some other farmers markets in the area that they thought I would do good at. Sure enough, I started selling successfully at two other markets. The markets in our area end by October and I still had customers wanting my products for gift giving, so my next step was to rent a Certified Kitchen and get more permits so I could expand what had now become my "real" business.

After hearing about bacon jam, I knew I had to try it. Needless to say, it has been a huge success and my business continues to grow.

I hope you enjoy my products as much as my local customers and will tell your friends as well. Oh, and don't be selfish, they make great gifts too!

Wishing you many Blessings,
Candy
